Why a Defence Career Through NDA
NDA is not just an exam — it's a gateway to one of India's most prestigious, secure, and fulfilling career paths.
Prestigious & Respected Career
Officers of the Indian Armed Forces are among the most respected professionals in the country. NDA graduates join the Army, Navy, or Air Force as commissioned officers — a career of honour, leadership, and national service.
World-Class Education at NDA
NDA (Khadakwasla, Pune) provides a 3-year degree programme (BA/BSc) from Jawaharlal Nehru University alongside military training. This dual education is fully funded by the Government of India — zero cost to parents.
Financial Security from Day One
NDA cadets receive a stipend during training. Upon commissioning, officers start at ₹56,100/month (Level 10) plus allowances, housing, healthcare, canteen, and pension. Total CTC rivals top corporate packages — with lifetime job security.
Leadership & Character Building
NDA transforms young students into leaders. The training develops discipline, decision-making, physical fitness, teamwork, and an unshakeable sense of duty — qualities that serve for life, whether in uniform or beyond.
Adventure & Global Exposure
Defence officers travel the world — UN peacekeeping missions, joint exercises with foreign armies, postings across India's diverse terrain from Siachen to Andamans. It's the most adventurous career path available.
Pathway Beyond Military
Retired defence officers excel in corporate leadership, government (IAS/IPS lateral entry), politics, diplomacy, aviation, and entrepreneurship. The NDA network is one of India's most powerful alumni communities.
