Connecting Across Borders: A Global Educational Exchange with Skylink Children School, Lagos, Nigeria

Updated: Sep 22

At RK International School, we believe in providing our students with opportunities that extend beyond traditional classroom learning. Today, we took a significant step in this direction by connecting our students with those from Skylink Children School, Lagos, Nigeria, through a Google Meet session.

This introductory session was much more than a simple virtual meet-and-greet. It was a platform for our students to interact with their Nigerian counterparts, sharing insights about their schools, curricula, cultures, and countries. The students eagerly exchanged stories about their daily lives, discussed their academic systems, and explored the similarities and differences in their educational journeys. This interaction not only broadened their perspectives but also highlighted the universal nature of education and learning.

This collaboration is part of the RIDS British Council Program, a global initiative designed to promote cross-cultural understanding and collaborative learning among students worldwide. Our students will continue this exciting journey by engaging in shared Google Classrooms, working together on various written projects, and participating in numerous virtual sessions planned for the coming months.

Through these interactions, our students will develop essential skills such as teamwork, communication, and global citizenship. They will gain a deeper appreciation of diverse perspectives, fostering empathy and respect for different cultures.

We are incredibly proud of our students for embracing this opportunity with enthusiasm and curiosity. As they embark on this educational adventure, we are confident that it will enrich their learning experience and help them grow into more informed, thoughtful, and compassionate individuals.

Stay tuned for more updates as our students continue to build connections and friendships that transcend borders!
